China or Porcelain painting has been around for many centuries and has been popular to the home painter for many years. But it is quickly becoming a vanishing art form. In this 2-day workshop the students will learn techniques and methods of overglaze painting. Students will paint a simple wild rose on a small china plate with 2 firings. They will learn how to mix paint, practice the techniques to apply paint, and how to fire in a kiln. This workshop will allow the students to understand this art form before making an investment in tools, etc.
All supplies will be provided. After the second firing, students will need to pick up their piece.
Suzette Clements has a degree in Fine Arts and is an artist in not only china painting, but many different mediums to include stained glass and costume sewing. She has been showing and selling artwork for 40 years. She has been china painting for more than 15 years.
